Improving female participation in trades apprenticeships.

Our customer

Our client is a leading energy business operating Australia’s largest private electricity generation portfolio with 3.7 million customer accounts, including residential, small and large business and wholesale customers.

At Harrier we are passionate about gender diversity and so we were delighted to support our customer to meet an ambitious target of 25% female apprentice hires at a regional power station.

Key outcomes.

Leveraging our years of experience working in Australia's resources and mining sectors, we designed a sourcing strategy that would appeal to local career women looking to retrain, as well as talent leaving local schools and colleges, with a focus on building a long-term pipeline of talent while filling current roles.

Using innovative technology, we transformed the hiring process, building strong appeal with the target demographic through a highly interactive, intuitive candidate experience.  We achieved 40% female and 20% indigenous hires.
